Our 100% Cashew Butter is made exclusively from premium-quality African cashew nuts. We primarily source our cashews from Togo and Tanzania. Why these countries? We have tested cashews from many origins, including Vietnam and India, but we always came back to the African varieties. Their naturally buttery flavour is exceptional, but just as importantly, they produce a beautifully smooth texture when ground. Many cashew spreads on the market require the addition of oils or other fats to achieve a creamy consistency, as cashews alone often result in a very thick paste. We discovered that by combining fresh, high-quality African cashews with our carefully developed roasting process, we can achieve a naturally silky texture without adding any oils, fats, or other ingredients. That's why our cashew butter truly deserves to be called 100%.

We purchase our cashews raw and unsalted before roasting them ourselves according to our own recipe. They are dry roasted using only hot air—never oil or fat. This roasting process is one of the most important steps in producing our cashew butter. Even a difference of just a few seconds can affect both the flavour and the final texture. After roasting, the nuts are left to cool completely for several hours before they are ground. Grinding them while still warm would prevent us from achieving the perfectly smooth consistency we strive for.

Thanks to this carefully controlled process, our cashew butter contains no added oils, fats, salt, sugar, gluten, or preservatives.

Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of production. Once opened, consume within 60 days.

Did You Know?
Cashews are unusual because the edible nut grows outside the fruit, attached to the bottom of what is known as the cashew apple. Although commonly called a nut, the edible portion is technically a seed. Each cashew apple produces only one cashew nut. The shell surrounding the seed contains naturally occurring toxic compounds and must be carefully removed before the cashew becomes safe to eat.
Although some products are marketed as raw cashews, commercially available cashews are never truly raw. Before the shell can be removed, the nuts must be heat-treated—typically with steam—to neutralize the caustic substances found in the shell.
